Learning Ruby

I started to learn Ruby from the last days of 2012. If you have an idea to learn some programming, I recommend you to learn Ruby instead of Python, Java, C, or PHP.

Trust me, learning Ruby is nothing but fun. Because Ruby is designed to bring fun into programming. Ruby won’t feel like a robotic language. Instead, it will feel almost like simple English. Also, Ruby codes are short and straightforward.

There are lots of books and websites to teach you Ruby. But I recommend you to try Code School’s TryRuby.org and then, read Chris Pine’s fine book, Learn to Program (there is a free online version of this book available on Chris Pine’s personal website, but you better buy the paperback from Amazon).

Once you finished learning Ruby, you can start learning Ruby on Rails.

Rails is the web framework for Ruby. It’s just like CodeIgniter for PHP and Django for Python.

Happy coding!
